Chicken Charlie San Juan

I am a sucker for fried chicken. I've been hearing a lot about Bonchon and the like and decided to try out a similar one nearest to us: Chicken Charlie in San Juan.

We arrived quite early (we were the only customers) yet we already had to park at the street. This is going to be a bit of a hassle especially if you're going to eat here during the peak hours. The place was quite small and simple, with a sort of doodle wall near the counter.

Since it was only the two of us, my boyfriend and I decided to get the 4 Drumsticks + 4 Wings Combo (Php288). The chicken was very tasty and crispy at first bite, but as we went on to our 3rd and 4th piece, it already felt kind of "off".

Good thing we ordered rice to balance the taste. I felt a bit disappointed with the presentation and service though. We were handed a paper plate, servers didn't seem at all happy and would rather sit down at the counter than ask what else we needed, AND the fact that there were a lot of flies roving around the area.

All in all, Chicken Charlie was a little overrated in my opinion and I would probably only go back if they have something more unique to offer.
